KTEC Names Joni Cobb as President of KTEC PIPELINE

KTEC has announced Joni Cobb as president of the KTEC PIPELINE, KTEC’s newly formed technology entrepreneurial fellowship program. Cobb will work closely with Trish Costello, founder of the KTEC PIPELINE and former CEO of the Kauffman Fellows Program, to identify talented and entrepreneurial Kansans - match them with best-in-class training, resources and
mentors - and encourage the PIPELINE “Innovators” to build their companies in Kansas.

“This is a tremendous opportunity, and I am honored to be a part of building this groundbreaking program for Kansas,” said Joni Cobb, KTEC PIPELINE President. “With the strategic guidance of Trish Costello, Kansas is well on its way to building a ‘best in class’ program for training and supporting our top technology talent. I am thrilled to be a part of these critical formative months and moving the program into its future."

“Joni’s background as an entrepreneur and her expertise in strategy, communications and accessing networks makes her the ideal person to lead the PIPELINE. She’s had a key role in the success of many of the state’s entrepreneurial and bioscience efforts and will bring that innovative mindset to the development of KTEC PIPELINE,” said Trish Costello, founder of the KTEC PIPELINE. “I am very pleased that we’ve attracted someone of her caliber for this important program.”

Cobb spent the past six years building her own Kansas company, Cobb Communications LLC, which provides comprehensive business planning and strategic communications’ services to companies and organizations such as KTEC, the Kansas Bioscience Organization, Truman Presidential Museum & Library, Union Station Kansas City, Eisenhower Presidential Library, Kansas Healthcare Access Coalition and the Statehouse Restoration Project. In 2005, she was recognized as one of Ingrams Magazine’s “40 Under Forty” for her company’s work. Cobb received her bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and thereafter earned her law degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.

“Joni has worked closely with KTEC on a number of related initiatives, specifically in the technology and bioscience sectors,” said Tracy Taylor, President & CEO of KTEC. “Everyone who works with Joni mentions her ability to execute a plan in a top flight way. With Joni’s leadership, teamed with Trish Costello’s vision and strategic direction, Kansas will ensure we retain our best and brightest innovators.” The KTEC “Innovator” recruitment is closing in on its critical last few weeks, with an application deadline of June 30, 2006. With the KTEC PIPELINE, Kansas is the only state today that is systematically identifying their top technology talent and connecting them to become future leaders.
