The primary programs through which KTEC supports basic research are our Centers of Excellence, the Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) and the STAR Fund.

	Centers of Excellence Located at state universities, our Centers of Excellence conduct basic and applied industry-led research that is the foundation for new products and technologies.
	Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Through EPSCoR, the state of Kansas and federal agencies co-fund basic research in science and engineering at Kansas state universities.
	Strategic Technology and Research (STAR) Fund The STAR Fund promotes national competitiveness in strategic technology niches that hold the most promise for the Kansas economy.
