  Miriam Ubben
Vice President of Policy

Ubben comes to KTEC following an engagement at the Entrepreneurial Development Center (EDC) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As Vice President of Capital Formation her focus was on matching clients to capital; raising funds for the EDC's angel capital fund; and securing funds at the local, state and federal level to support EDC's initiatives. Prior to joining the EDC, she was President of Blue Ocean Ventures, a for-profit business accelerator that provided strategic resources to companies.

Ubben also served as President of the Software and Information Technology of Iowa (SITI). SITI specialized in tech based economic development and services for Iowa's software and information technology industry. During her tenure, she built a strong industry trade association that passed legislation, created and supported new technology businesses, and brought new sources of venture and angel capital to Iowa's 2,900 software and information technology companies.

An Iowa native, Ubben has served on various boards and committees throughout Iowa and was a Governor's appointee to the Iowa Access Advisory Committee. Ubben served on the Executive Committee of the National Council of Regional Information Technology Associations, the Council of Competitiveness (Finance), and was V-Chair of the Iowa SBDC Advisory Council.

Ubben holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Grand View College, Des Moines, Iowa and attended MBA classes at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa.
